Fabric, Cushions and a Staple Gun…
…and a prepared Candy Baboo to do the manhandling stuff…
I’ve not been capable of get to the sewing machine as a result of misplaced stuff, however I hit a magical second about a week ago.
Amid all the dusting and cleansing of locations the place sheetrock dust had accumulated, My Candy Babboo occurred to look intently on the nearly 20 year previous dinette chairs.
‘Those are gross.’ he acknowledged.
Weellll….I had just so happened to have picked up a couple of upholstery flat folds and a few foam cushions again when Hancock’s had a sale final summer season. Just for the very goal of changing the seat cushions and covers.
We began with the bench. Which was kinda not so sensible, as it was probably the most complicated one…cutout corners and pieced foam cushion (from the leftovers of the slab used for the porch swing cushion). But…we did have the toughest one out of the way in which first. We worked on the other 4 chairs for the set over the subsequent few days…one at a time.
In all honesty, these are fairly low cost chairs; we bought the set at a neighborhood flea market and the tender wooden has picked up greater than its share of dings and scratches; one or two have needed to be repaired.
But, with materials on sale and our personal labor, it’s good enough to get us just a little farther down the highway. 😉
And, as a result of I just picked up two lengths of the flatfold, we decided there was enough leftover to do another desperately wanted get better: our nearly 35 12 months old card desk set. Some of the chairs have been ‘repaired’ with duck tape…that was the case for the one we recovered first. There are three extra to go and…as luck would have it…I obtained a Hancock’s coupon in my e mail Monday that was solely good for two days, so I managed to get the additional foam cushions AND a chunk of vinyl to get well the table as nicely, on sale and with the coupon.
However we decided to pack up the recuperate tools till after Thursday…got plenty to do between from time to time to get somewhat moved again into some semblance of order. It’s going…slowly…but it is going.
